Snorkelling Ireland has been a slow-burning labour of love that I have been slowly chipping away at. The idea was originally for a blog/website based on snorkelling and shore diving in Ireland where people could come and share locations, ideas and their love of the water. Since then the platform and the ideas have grown but like with most passions and hobbies, life has a tendency to sometimes get in the way and they have to be put to the side for a while.
In my case, a few very positive things happened in the form of moving to the other side of the country (Sligo), buying a house, and starting a new job with Atlantic Technological University, Sligo (Just a few little things). Still, I kept working away on the site when time allowed. From time to time I needed a push to keep me going which was regularly served to me by a fellow nominee, Val Robus of Magnum Lady Blog
This morning the chipping way and not letting the idea go paid off, Snorkelling Ireland was nominated for a SOCKIE award in the category of Social Media Campaign: Non-professionals. Exciting times.
